OCZMA Demographic & Economic Study Update

OCZMA is known as the primary source of objective information about the Oregon coastal economy. We firmly believe sound public policy development is impossible without top-quality data.

OCZMA’s study about the Oregon Coast’s economy documents that investment and transfer income, taken together, constitute 46% of the total “earned” income on the Oregon Coast. This vividly shows how crucial retirees are to our regional economy. And, people will be surprised to learn that tourism only accounts for 6% of earned income on the Oregon Coast!

Many on the Oregon Coast are struggling financially. If we work together, coastal leaders can diversify and strengthen our rural economy.
